Techno, from Fiesta!

'Techno' is the fourth and last movement of 'Fiesta!' a suite of four pop dances for orchestra originally scored for chamber ensemble, and commissioned by Miguel Harth-Bedoya to mark 100th anniversary of the Lima Philharmonic Society in 2007. As of April of 2018, 'Fiesta!' has received over 80 performances around the world, making it one of the most played classical contemporary works by a living composer. In this video, Conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya leads the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK) on a fun and fresh new video production.

This 7-minute video stars Catherine Curtin (Netflix's Stranger Things 2 Orange is the New Black, HBO's Insecure), Reed Luplau (Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 on Broadway, the film Five Dances), and Cole Horibe (The King and I on Broadway, So You Think You Can Dance)The haunting story follows a Young Man (Luplau) at the bedside of his ailing mother (Curtin) as the scene transforms into a journey through a dark forest, culminating in an encounter on a moonlit dance floor. A mysterious Death figure arrives, and tries to seduce the Young Man through dance and music but as Death (Horibe) invites him to stay, the Young Man is faced with a heartbreaking dilemma.

Harmonia Mundi Album Release

August 14, 2015 saw the release of López's first album under the Harmonia Mundi label, in collaboration with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya.
